Basic mutant information
Mutant name arf2-8 nph4-1 arf19-4
Mutant/Transgenic mutant
Ecotype Col-0
Mutagenesis type cross
(Semi-)Dominant/Recessive recessive
Description Male sterile. Although mutations in NPH4/ARF7 and ARF19 did not affect senescence of rosette leaves or floral organs on their own, they enhanced the effects of the arf2-8 mutation. Eight days after detachment, arf2-8 leaves retained 49% of their chlorophyll, whereas arf2-8 nph4-1 arf19-4 leaves retained 65%.

Mutated genes
Mutated Gene 1 Locus name AT5G62000
Alias ARF2/HSS/ORE14
Organism Arabidopsis thaliana
Description Encodes an auxin response factor. Mutants have many defects including enlarged rosette leaves, reduced fertility, later senescence, hypocotyl elongation defects, enlarged seeds and enlarged cotyledons. May not mediate auxin effects. Increase in seed size due to increased cell proliferation.
Mutated Gene 2 Locus name AT1G19220
Alias ARF19
Organism Arabidopsis thaliana
Description Encodes an auxin response factor 19.
